‘Tis The Season

It’s that time of year for Christmas present buying. So I’ve been busy with some custom orders, making sure the community pop-up shop in town is well supplied with my items. Plus, this Saturday I have a Winter Fayre to attend too. Therefore, on Saturday I will be removing items from my Etsy and Purple Wyvern Jewels online shops that I am taking to the Winter Fayre. Anything, that isn’t sold will be re-enabled later on Saturday evening.

Monday Update

It’s been a while since I did an update, so I’ve got a number of new things to share, including events, shop locations, and new items.

Christmas Event

In a month’s time, I’m attending a Winter Fayre Event, which I’m hoping will be a fun one to do as it is the first Christmas event I’ve done. I had hoped to attend a few more events. However, there is a bit of competition with spaces for jewellery stalls at events, as a number of them restrict the amount of similar stalls at an event, and unfortunately I haven’t been lucky enough to obtain a stall at those events.

Community Pop Up Shop

The local Community Pop Up Shop moved location at the beginning of this month. They’re still based at the High Chelmer Shopping Centre but in a slightly different location, just round the corner. The volunteers did a fantastic job of moving everything in to the new shop, and managed to complete the move in a couple of hours. Items are now arranged over two floors, with the top floor predominately showcasing local painters and downstairs predominately showcasing local crafters.

My items are situated on a table by the window that’s covered in the red tablecloth. Since they moved in to their new location, I’ve added a larger range of items for sale in their shop.

New Items

First up, out of my new creations, is a silver plated necklace I created with beads received in my surprise package, and is currently for sale in the Community Pop Up Shop.

I’ve added two new macramé bracelets, and there will be more on the way in the future, as I keep on having ideas for other styles I would like to create.

The fishbone knot bracelet is created using square knots, but due to the order of how the threads are tied, creates a different look compared to a standard square knot bracelet.

Lastly, I’ve extended my range of hair accessories to include hair barettes, which are currently for sale in the Community Pop Up Shop.

New Jewellery Items In Store & Next Event

In preparing for the Pamper Party Event that I attended at the end of last month, I made quite a number of new jewellery items. Unfortunately, the event was a lot quieter than hoped, and therefore only a small amount of people attended. So now I have lots of extra items to list in my Purple Wyvern Jewels shop. I have managed to photograph some of them and have been listing a few of them.

Pendants

Green Agate Pendant in Sterling Silver

Green Agate Pendant in Sterling Silver

I brought the green agate gemstone in this Green Agate Pendant in Sterling Silver from a fellow Etsy seller. I purchased two of these tear drop shaped agate stones. I was looking for something to turn in to a birthday present for my Mother-In-Law and whilst emerald is the modern birthstone for May, agate along with emerald is a traditional birthstone for May. Agate is also the birthstone for the Zodiac sign Gemini (21 May – 21 Jun). So I chose this agate stone due to it’s lovely green colour, as unfortunately emerald would have been too expensive for me to use for the present. One of these was given away as a gift and the other is currently available for purchase in my shop.

I have two more new pendants listed for sale in my shop, with a couple more yet to be photographed and listed. The first pendant features a dyed purplish red crazy lace agate gemstone. Although, this particular stone doens’t really have any purple tones to it, it has more of a red colouring with some white tones to it. The second pendant features a fire agate gemstone, which has tones of white, ivory, peach and orange to it, along with an unusual crackled pattern.

Bracelets

I have three new bracelets listed in my shop, with one more that I need to list. The first bracelet features small green agate tear drop shaped gemstones, that coordinate with my Green Agate Waterfall Necklace in Sterling Silver and Green Agate Wire Wrap Sterling Silver Earrings. The second bracelet features regtangular faceted amethyst gemstones with sterling silver beads, that coordinate with my Amethyst Wire Wrapped Sterling Silver Necklace. The last bracelet is a unisex wrap bracelet that features tiger coco beads.

Next Selling Event

I’ve been looking around for other local events to sell my jewellery at, and I’ve found a couple that are very local and happen on a regular/semi-regular basis, but unfortunately they are booked out at the moment. Hopefully spaces will become available for those at some point. In the meantime, I’ve found an Indoor Market over in Maldon, Essex that happens the first Saturday of each from 9am – 2.30pm. So on the 2nd July I will be there selling my wares.

First Selling Event

I have an opportunity to sell my handmade jewellery at a local “Pamper Party” event on Saturday 28th April. It’s being billed as a chance to relax and sample beauty products and receive treatments, along with various stalls including gifts for the whole family, beauty, jewellery, accessories and fragrance.

I’m really excited about this opportunity to sell my jewellery, plus if I’m honest, a tad nervous, as it’s my first selling event (other than selling online of course). So currently, I’m busily preparing for the event, which is now less than two weeks away. So I won’t be posting any new items for sale in my shop until after the event. I’m trying to make up as many more items between now and then as possible, so that I have as wide a selection of items as possible to offer for sale. I’m also thinking about how to set up my stall (table), to show off my jewellery creations to be visually appealing as possible to people. I am planning on taking pictures of my stall just before the event starts, so will be posting pictures and update about the event at the end of April.
